Reed College Real Estate

Neighborhood Overview

Named after the celebrated liberal arts college located within its boundaries, Reed is the smallest neighborhood in Southeast Portland. Wide, canopied streets curve past elegant homes and gardens, connecting residents to the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden and Eastmoreland Golf Course and Playground.

Although the Reed neighborhood is itself purely residential, the commercial and entertainment districts of downtown Portland, Woodstock and Hawthorne are just a few minutes away by car or bike.

Parks & Recreation

In addition to the immensely walkable Reed College campus, the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden sits just beyond the border of the neighborhood and features lovely waterfalls, walking paths and a bridged duck pond tucked into the several hundred varieties of Rhododendron and Azalea blossoms. Berkeley Park is Reed’s largest day park with over 6 acres of expansive lawns dotted with towering old-growth trees, a children’s playground, ball courts, playing fields and a wading pool.

Real Estate

Expansive, immaculately kept homes in the Arts and Crafts, Tudor and English Cottage styles make up most of the Northern portion of the Reed neighborhood, while an abundance of late 1970s Ranch and multi-level apartment complexes surround the Reed College campus to the South.
