The Pearl District Real Estate

Overview

The Pearl District is one of the hottest neighborhoods in the city, and is a popular destination for arts and cultural activities as well as bars and nightlife. It offers extensive options for dining, shopping and has a bit of something for everyong; young professionals will applaud it's nightlife, yet it was also named one of the Best Neighborhoods to Retire in 2007 by Money Magazine.

Of course, all the excitement has also served to drive real estate prices up higer than in many other parts of the city, in which case you may find it a nice place just to go for a stroll, with many hip art galleries and boutiques to browse and the business district publishes a free Pearl District map.

Parks & Recreation

The North Park blocks offer 3 acres of wide open paths to stroll with basket ball courts, bocce ball courts, and a playground. A few blocks northwest of the park blocks is Jamison Square with a lovely fountain and modern art sculptures. Continuing northward leads to Tanner Springs park, the site of a former wetland, that now offers meandering paths and waterways with grassy lawns and scattered statues.

Real Estate

The Pearl district area is home to many older brick buildings and was formerly an industrial area which is now being gentrified and converted into unique residential lofts and condos. There is also some new construction of highrise condos, and it is sometimes compared to New York City's SoHo neighborhood due to it's chic blend of old industrial combined with modern luxury.
